Ahh Halmarut!

So as previously informed, the MSQ will be released in two parts, the first part releases on the 28th April as the patch 7.5 comes out, with the following part 2 coming out early September 2026.

This Live Letter will not be very long, but will cover the things that we're actually getting in the next patch, with special focus on in-game content being shown we'll get way more screenies to share here.

Apologies for the amount of pixels in the screenshots but alas, that's the quality of the stream so not much to do about it.

As this live letter was shorter, content wise we only got to see more things from the new alliance raid, the new Crystalline Conflict arena, and some new info on Beastmaster.

Without further ado, let's get this going!

PvE

Main Scenario Quests

So this will be the part 1 of the MSQ releasing.

Nothing much about this for now, just the trailer hints and we're told to wait for Fanfest.

New Dungeon - The Clyteum

Nothing new here either, just the stuff on the trailer.

We're going back to Garlemald again, and apparently this place is where Magitek was manufactured.

We're going to see what the Garleans were capable of doing.

According to Yoshi, this dungeon will be a feast for lore addicts.

New Trial - Enuo (Normal/Extreme)

Again, nothing new from the fight itself aside from the trailer stuff.

Yoshi said the mechanics for this fight will be more straightforward and will have less arena gimmicks, so it should be easier to grasp I guess.

We did get shown some wings which seem to be from this fight, I'll group all the mounts shown in its own part below.

New Unreal - Shinryu's Domain (Unreal)

Nothing to see here either.

It's a more fast paced fight.

New Ultimate Raid - ???

Now this one, they still keep showing us nothing on stream, but go watch the trailer above!

We'll get more info about it real soon. One word to describe this ultimate is: Pain.

According to Yoshi, the balance for this fight is all done, so it's pretty much almost complete.

The weapon will be very flashy it seems!

Dawntrail Allied Society Capstone Quests

Once again, nothing new, it's just the ending of the Dawntrail Allied Society quests.

Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures

Same thing, nothing much here.

Yoshi said these quests can be summarized as "Stupid", so prepare for shenanigans.

New Custom Deliveries - Tiisol Ja

More custom deliveries stuff, no new info.

It's all about taco here, and there will be a lot of taco related stuff in Fanfest, according to Yoshi.

Occult Crescent: North Horn

Adjustments are all done and it's ready to release.

This will expand on the Occult Crescent map with a completely new field.

Ocean Fishing Update

Thavnair fishing, same as we've seen before.

Cosmic Exploration New Star - Auxesia

The final star for the cosmic exploration.

This will complete the entire series, and will have a lot of reworks.

Gold Saucer Updates

Still no info.

Duty Support

As been customary, there's new dungeons being converted to the duty support system.

This was already mentioned in PLL 91:

  • The Dusk Vigil
  • Shisui of the Violet Tides

Now let's pick up the stuff we actually got more to see in this live letter.

New Alliance Raid

Echoes of Vana'diel Part 3 - Windurst: The Third Walk

Starting with the new Alliance raid, we got to see some places within the raid itself.

To see the intro cutscene, please watch the live letter!

I got to say, the place looks really beautiful at least and there will be laughs!

Here you go with the screenies!

There was some combat shown, but again, if you want to see that in action, please watch the stream!

Alliance Raid Gear

So this raid brings new gear of course.

We'll see some of the gear in lalafell version only, because Yoshi is showcasing it on their own character.

Phantom Weapons

We didn't get to see many of them, but we've been shown some.

They are very shiny!

These weapons were designed with artifact gear in mind, so who knows what that means.

We didn't get to see all of them because it's too much trouble with debug commands, wait for release to see them all!

New Limited Job - Beastmaster

We've had some new information added to what's coming.

There's also some in-game combat shown on stream.

I won't repeat the same things that we've seen on the last PLL so here's what's new:

The bestiary

To get a beast added to the bestiary, you have to capture it and knock it out (basically kill it at the end).

In this case, the coeurl has two skills to use, one is called Blaster(single target) and the other is called Charged Wisker (aoe).

The bestiary will also have some lore about the monster.

There's also beasts that will not be seen anywhere in the world and are exclusive to beastmaster.

You will be able to "borrow" skills from the beast summoned.

Beast actions

These are skills for the beastmaster according to the stream.

The "Trick" icon will change according to the beast.

Instinctual Skills

Unlike Blue Mage, the Beastmaster will have a job gauge, or in this case, two job gauges!

When the gauges for the Beastmaster and the Beast reach 100 or more, they can be consumed entirely to allow the beastmaster and beast to perform instinctual skills together.

The Beastmaster will have all the 4 elements, but the beasts themselves will have their own dedicated elements.

There's an additional HUD for beastmaster, which you can see has a circle with arrows on it, this is pretty much the element rotation.

Combining elements together will let you do Light or Dark element attacks.

Some close-ups of the gauges in action.

Mounts

Some of the mounts that were shown on stream.

This one is nightmare inducing!

This one is from Enuo extreme.

There's also a birb!

Poor thing is struggling with a Lalafell, imagine a full sized Hrothgar!

There's this weird thing too, looks like a funky mix of a platypus and a mutant ninja turtle.

This one will be the final mount you get once you collect the wings from all the extreme trials.

The biblical accurate sinner right here!

There's also a bike from Hildi quests!

According to Yoshi, these are not all the mounts, but it's just a preview.

Other gear and stuff

We've been shown some paper as well, as is usual.

This is apparently the gear for Occult Crescent?

PvP

Good old PvP stuff.

What's coming

  • PvP Series 11 starts
  • PvP action adjustments (as usual)
  • New Crystalline Conflict Arena

Crystalline Conflict Arena

There will be a new map for crystalline conflict, this one will feature a new type of mechanic, which is a charging checkpoint, alongside other quirks.

Map overview

I managed to catch a glimpse during the intro animation of how the map is structured, you can also see the map layout.

Healing Glyph

There will be healing glyphs at the front of each teams starting point.

Standing in your team's glyph will give you 50% less damage taken and HP over time.

This is a good way to help push back against spawn camping.

Aetherometer

This is the new mechanic of this map.

These circles will be in the crystal's path, and you will have to charge them up to advance.

The path forward to the normal checkpoint is blocked off by these stairs that will only appear when the charge is complete.

Leaving the circle or an enemy entering the circle with you will reset the charge completely!

Aetherial Bridge

This is the bridge that will appear once the charge is complete on the Aetherometer.

Jump Glyph

As seen in other maps, there will be ways to move around the map, such as fast lanes and jump pads.

Systems and Tech

Now that we're done with the content proper, we'll have a look at the new system stuff.

Sightseeing Log

The sightseeing log will get some changes.

Now the log message displayed upon reaching a vista will display the emote required to complete it.

If a vista has a specific time or weather condition that needs to be met, it will also indicate if these conditions have not been met.

Outfit Glamour Update

Gear from dungeons added from 3.0 onwards will be eligible to store as outfits.

Individual pieces of gear will be able to be removed from the outfit glamours (no longer need to remove the entire set)

Crafting QOL

From this patch onward, players will be able to perform extra actions while crafting, such as:

  • Change class/job
  • Consume food/potions
  • Move items in the inventory
  • Join or leave a party, operate linkshells

So this means that you no longer have to get out of the crafting position to use potions and stuff just to continue crafting, it also makes it easier to use crafting while waiting for a party invite.

Until now they did not allow these things because they prioritised safety to not lose items, since they've been reworking stuff in the back-end, it's now possible to do these things without risk.

Companion Chocobo Update

The companion chocobo will get new animations corresponding with their rank.

The chocobo will also react to emotes such as /pet and /poke

This is a small change, but they're planning to start from here into something more.

New UI colour schemes

There will be two new colour schemes to choose from, Clear Pink and Clear Grey.

According to Yoshi, during A Realm Reborn, they were prioritising getting the game functional, and so they never focused too much on giving players addicional choices as the focus was doing things simple and workable. But now, they want to add more options, as the game evolved and time has gone by, they want to add more control and settings so that players have a better time with the game.

Housing update

Once again we get this mentioned.

There will be increased limits as seen on the last PLL, new fixture designs and a new option to prioritise and adjust the number of characters displayed within the house.

This last option is due to the increased limits.

Basically with the focus on increasing the placement of items, they want to keep increasing this limit in the future, however, they can't increase it too much.

By increasing the item limit, they start to hit limits on what the players themselves will be able to sustain on their systems, so in order to avoid a worse player experience, they are trying to work around these limits by reworking the priorities of the render and also trying to do new render techniques such as not loading items on floors you're not on.

This change should not impact a lot of players, but Yoshi leaves a warning to be careful with complex designs that makes use of items being pushed up/down into other floors.

They noted that it might come a day that you'll have to tell people to look at your house designs from a certain angle and with a specific display limit so that they can see the "extra effects".

And if you don't want to worry about players and just want to see the house, you may prioritise displaying the furniture and limit the player display.

Dye Update

The new dye system as was mentioned in the last PLL will also come into effect this patch.

Dyes currently in your possession will no longer be functional. You will have to change them to the new ones once the patch is out. Speak to the Calamity Salvager.
