Producer's Live Letter 91

Would you look at that, it's that time again!

We're looking at Live Letter 91, can you believe it? Almost reaching 100!

As usual, it's time for Wey to dive in and fetch those pretty pictures, miqo'tes are very visual creatures, you know.

The breakdown will be the same as I usually follow, so feel free to jump around with the menu.

I'm starting off with this as it's not yet confirmed or an official announcement.

Before the "official" start of the live letter, Yoshi showcased some 3d printed figures, and put the idea out there.

Now that they're seeing a quality that they're comfortable with, they're exploring the possibility of offering a service to turn your own Warrior of Light into a figure.

They've mentioned that it could possibly be done by sending over screenshots of your character from different angles, so that it could be recreated by them and turned into something.

As this is 3D printed, there will be some limits to the quality due to the size they're aiming for (faces are hard), however they're comfortable with this level of quality for now and the figures shown are supposedly final products from their tests.

They did gloss over the fact that it's not easy to get this done cheaply (I mean look at that lala size and it still has fingers), but... We'll see where it leads in the future.

Some pics!

Now that that's done... This first Live Letter does not have any in-game footage, and it's going to be part 1 of 2.
Part 2 will have the in-game stuff, where we can look at more details, for now, we're just getting still images and very few bits of information.

Yoshi vents that they have lots of things that they'd like to mention but can't yet, it's better to wait until the NA Fanfest.

It seems like this is not the only thing that's going to have parts, as the MSQ will also be cut into parts.

Patch 7.5 - Trail To The Heavens

Release: Tuesday, April 28, 2026

Patch cadence was announced, but it's only down to the months, the plan (if nothing fails) is:

  • Patch 7.5 (We are here) - April 28
  • Patch 7.51 - Early June
  • Patch 7.55 - Late July
  • Patch 7.56 - Early September (Second part of the MSQ is here)

But Wey, what are we getting? Keeping in mind that not all of this comes out at 7.5 exactly (as usual), let's see...

PvE

New Main Scenario Quests

This is the part 1 we're getting.

No details yet, just pictures.

Yoshi did say we're moving the Warrior of Light's story further once again, but they will talk more about it at the Fanfest.

New Dungeon - The Clyteum

This new dungeon takes us... back to Garlemald?

This is not Garlemald rebuilding (yet I guess?) but it's instead related to the MSQ, which is taking us back there.

Yoshi did say "you always had a dark impression of Garlemald since ARR, questioning whether people even live there", what could they possibly mean with this, who knows?

New Trial - Enuo (Normal/Extreme)

That guy looks tough, but... if the MSQ dungeon is Garlemald, the trial is...

What is this and what's with that Ascian looking symbol in the back?!

Yoshi said that there'll be many shifts in the plot this time, we'll see.

New Unreal - Shinryu's Domain (Unreal)

Time to fight this giant thing again!

New Ultimate Raid - ???

Just teasing, it was all kept secret (damn!).

If the white noise/static is a hint, my bets are on NieR!

We'll find out soon, since this will probably be revealed at the Fanfest.

New Alliance Raid

Echoes of Vana'diel Part 3 - Windurst: The Third Walk

Yoshi mentions how this alliance raid tier has been positively impacting the population over at FFXI as well.

They put a lot of effort even when making the scenery like trees and grass (it looks stunning honestly).

They mentioned that this content will be voiced too, we like voiced stuff right? Yes we do!

Occult Crescent: North Horn

The new map is finally coming out, and with it some nice changes too!

Yes, new map means new monsters, new Critical Encounters and new FATEs

Some of the changes coming:

  • Knowledge level increasing to 40
  • Multiple new Phantom Jobs

New Occult Crescent Gear

The new zone will also be accompanied by new gear to get and upgrade.

Possessing upgraded gear from the South Horn will let you skip some of the steps required to enhance this new gear.

New Occult Crescent Raid - Forked Tower: Magic

With a new zone, comes a new raid.

This time around we'll finally get two difficulty modes!

The accessibility has also been slightly improved from last time.

We'll be able to take on this new raid in either Normal or Extreme difficulties.

Up to 48 players can participate in the raid, in either mode.

Normal Difficulty

This time around there will be no ciphers required to access (bless!).

In order to join, you simply have to stand atop the aetherial node; doing so will register your interest in participating.

If more than 48 players stand on the aetherial node, then participants will be selected at random.

However, it's not completely random; should you not be selected for that round, your next try will have extra priority of being selected.

Extreme Difficulty

Surprisingly, this one will also not require ciphers to join either!

However, access to this difficulty will only be possible from "extreme-mode" instances, which are separate from the normal instances and must be started by players intentionally.

The extreme instances can be entered by alliances of 12 or more players in 3 or more parties.

Upon entering one of these extreme instances (effectively starting the instance), the Forked Tower raid will become immediately accessible.

Phantom Weapon Upgrades

Hey I like this part, shinies!

Yoshi mentions how they are now more comfortable with the graphic updates in their workflow as well (I guess this lets them have an easier time making special things like these pretties).

Sadly they only gave us one little teaser image.

New Limited Job - Beastmaster

The anticipated new limited job will soon be here!

This one I believe is only coming out in one of the later patch cycles as well, however, here's what was shown.

We got a brief overview of the job, but the in-game demos will only be shown in the next live letter.

All this content was designed from the ground up by Mr Ozma, including the job design, sadly, this took too much of the team's time and so they will have to postpone the promised updates to Blue Mage.

It's time to go out there and capture some beasties to fight at your side!

Menus Preview

This is the bestiary, which the lovely people at Final Fantasy XIV discord translated for our convenience.

Crucible of the Unbroken

This will be a single player experience intended to nurture your beasts and overcome challenges together with them.

It's a new type of duty, unlike any other duties in FFXIV.

Dawntrail Allied Society

The final quests to complete the allied society.

Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures

We continue following Hildi's silly stories.

New Custom Deliveries - Tiisol Ja

It's taco time!

Ocean Fishing Update

Are you... fishing for more content?

Well, get hooked on this new reel'ly exciting fishing trip to the beautiful crystalline waters of Thavnair! (I'm so sorry!)

Cosmic Exploration New Star - Auxesia

Nothing more than screenshots for this one, looks pretty tho!

Duty Support

Almost at the end now, we've got the usual updates to the Duty Support system.

They've received feedback that the mechanical difficulty was reduced too much, but they reason that they have to do it to accommodate for the duty support system's limitations.

They'd rather have solo players be able to enjoy the content, but they always keep in mind and try to be careful not to take away too much from the mechanics of the duty support updated dungeons.

The new additions this time are:

  • The Dusk Vigil
  • Shisui of the Violet Tides

Gold Saucer Updates

Nothing much on this one, they've just mentioned that they're working on multiplayer content for the Gold Saucer, but it will come out in a later patch.

PvP

For PvP, here's what we're getting this time around for patch 7.5:

  • PvP Series 11 will begin
  • PvP action adjustments (the usual)
  • New Crystalline Conflict arena

New Crystalline Conflict Arena

Nothing more than some pics!

Systems and Tech

We're done with the big content, now we'll look at the other updates that we'll be getting.

Pretty exciting news in here!

Housing Update

It's finally time!

The update we've all been waiting for, more space to feed our house hoarding addictions!

  • Increased placement limits for indoor and outdoor furnishings
  • New interior fixture designs
Plot Size Indoor Furnishings Outdoor Furnishings Indoor Storeroom Outdoor Storeroom
Small 200 → 300 20 → 40 200 → 300 20 → 40
Medium 300 → 450 30 → 60 300 → 450 30 → 60
Large 400 → 600 40 → 80 400 → 600 40 → 80
Private Chambers (FC) 100 → 150 - 100 → 150 -
Apartments 100 → 150 - 100 → 150 -

They mentioned that there will be settings now that will allow you to reduce the players shown to prioritise furniture displays or to simply prioritise players close to you.

These new limits should allow for new designs that haven't been possible before.

Yoshi has also mentioned that they've got the interior size change working, which will allow you to change your house's interior from a small to a large, but this will only come at a later update, not this time.

They've also mentioned that they want to update the housing UI, to allow more players access to doing things like what people do now with tricks (e.g. floating furniture) but this is a longer term goal.

Armoire Update

There will be updates to the Armoire storage options.

The update will include:

  • All job-specific gear (Artifact gear)
  • All gear from dungeons introduced in 7.x patches

Gear from earlier dungeons will continue being rolled out gradually.

The ability to store dungeon gear as outfit glamours is also under consideration (please!)

Dye System Update

Now this one is so simple but it's such a big one!

Dyes will be changed into a new consolidated format.

Most of the currently available dyes will be changed into a new dye item that falls onto one of these three.

The naming for these is still pending, but they'll be grouped up in this way:

  • Type A: This will include the 85 dyes from 2.x patches
  • Type B: The 9 dyes from Ishgardian Restoration
  • Type C: The 11 dyes from Cosmic Exploration

Dyes sold in the online store and dyes of corresponding colours will remain as they are and will not be consolidated.

From what I could tell based on the descriptions, when using one of the new consolidated dyes, you will have the option to select the colour you want, this means that for each of the 3 types of new dyes you will have the possibility to choose any colour within them to apply to your item.

Individual dyes that will be changed into the new system will no longer be obtainable anywhere.

This is honestly a big win, both for player customisation (no more having to go back and forward to get the colours you want), as well as for inventory space!

Goodbye to my retainer whose sole job is holding dyes!

💡Hint!

If you have any dyes stored now, you can either sell them while they're still worth something, or wait until they are no longer functional and trade them in at the Calamity Salvager once the patch goes live.
